A lovely new bookcase, assembled by M. (Yes, purchased from that Scandinavian mega-retailer.)
I’m trying to keep it neat and have even refrained from creating double rows of books. And note the neat top of the case - I’ve just chosen a few of my undersized Chinese language books to “showcase” them. (We’ll see how long this lasts!)
My study is relatively neat at the moment, although some of my bookcases remain a tad messy.
Yes, I am grateful for the luxury of having a study of my own. The room gets horrifically hot on scorching summer afternoons and is not pleasant to sit in, but in other seasons it’s wonderful. On those summer afternoons I’m glad I have my eeePC (although sitting in the lounge room flanked by two chihuahuas does mean it gets warm there too).
I usually read, surf, play and sit in this room. I drink tea, eat noodles, write blog posts, listen to music, draw pictures, go through my feed aggregator, browse my bookshelves, build civilizations and learn new things here.
