A few of my colleagues and friends, including many of the lint team, are attending the Information Online conference in Sydney at the moment. The conference opened yesterday. I wish I was there - I guess I’ll just have to enjoy it vicariously. Michelle McLean has already written the first day’s events up on her blog - thank you Michelle!

While in Sydney we visited the Taronga Zoo.
A view of the elephants from the zoo cable car.
Lioness drinking. This reminded me of a particular cat.
We spent about three hours at the zoo, but I only took nine photos. Most of the time I was too busy looking at things to remember to take pictures. The silverback gorilla (leader of the zoo’s troop of gorillas) was awesome and had the most amazing expression on his face. I would have felt rude to point the camera in his face while he gazed at us humans. I’m sure it’s just me.

I don’t quite know why, but I was quite thrilled to see the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. It’s not as if it was the first time I’d seen these iconic structures.

It was the first time I’d actually been on the Harbour Bridge, though. Next time we’re in Sydney we might actually attempt the 3.5 hour bridge climb.
