List

Listening to: Chiquitita by Abba.

To do: Dutch language homework. The class this coming weekend is the last one! How do I translate: There is nothing to say? (Please don’t tell me, I’m just thinking aloud.)

Current favourite Dutch word: de tentoonstelling - exhibition. Last week’s favourite word was knoflookteen - garlic clove.

Thinking about: The week ahead. This week we have three things on in the evenings. Tonight, birthday dinner. Tomorrow night, dinner with librarians. Thursday night, een tentoonstelling van mijn vriendin (a friend’s exhibition). And I have four new staff members starting today.

Currently reading: Voices by Arnaldur Indridason. Verdict: uncertain. I may have found a new favourite Icelandic author (as in Henning Mankell is my favourite Swedish crime fiction author). Next on To Read list: Grotesque by Natsuo Kirino. The Keys to the Street by Ruth Rendell. Surrender by Sonja Hartnett. The Murray Whelan Trilogy by Shane Malone. Maigret in Holland by Georges Simenon.

Now: breakfast. Mango, orange, banana, pear.

Of lists and links

This is inspired by my colleague EW, who sent me a link to this cool widget. (Thanks EW! :) )

It calculates your blog’s celebrity status. I already I knew I wasn’t an A-lister, and I was pretty sure I wasn’t a B-lister, so it was amusing when it confirmed that I am a C-lister!

C-List Blogger

A C-list blog is defined as a blog that has had “10-99 blogs linking in the last 6 months”. What’s your blog’s ranking?

And while we’re on the subject of linkage, take a look at this amazing list of Australian blogs from Jon at AustralianBlogs.com.au. It’s nice to know that I am “one of the noisest bloggers in Oz” (191/983 - noisy indeed)!
