In the background, the bookcases in my study. They are in serious need of tidying. I seriously considered making a resolution to not buy any new books in 2009 (like Tom), but decided it would be too unrealistic and that I would be setting myself up for failure.

I don’t think I could ever make a resolution not to buy more books. I just can’t help myself when it comes to books.
yeah, well that is one resolution you won’t catch me making….
I don’t think I could make such a resolution, but I am trying to reduce the number of books I buy. Like Tom, I did read a bit over 100 books last year, and I still have a lot of books on the TBR (not counting the ones that have not been shelved yet). Oh well, just take it one book at a time.

Yep, not buying books would be a major sacrifice for me. But yes, Angel, maybe I will see if I can buy fewer books. I definitely won’t suffer from a lack of books to read, given that my To Read pile never seems to decrease.
