On my end, I have not been picking a whole lot in Spanish (the other language I am fluent in). Something I may have to remedy this year (I hope. I vaguely recall saying something like that last year, so I am not holding my breath). Like you, I did not include periodicals in my reading list. Not sure if I would or not.
