Couldn’t seem to log in to the blog earlier, when I was trying to post. Everything took forever (I’m talking minutes) to load. Some sort of problem with my host, I suspect, as all the other sites I was idly looking at loaded fine.
It was very strange when I commented earlier. Somewhere the blog registered that I had commented - enough to generate the notification email that is delivered to my Gmail account everytime someone comments - even while I was still waiting for my comment to be submitted.
It seems as though it was only a temporary glitch, as everything’s back to normal now. However, it’s now time to get ready for work. I’ll try and write later in the day, during my lunch break.
I hope there’s a lull in the rain while I travel to work. It’s been raining very heavily since about 2:30am. There’s something very soothing about lying in a warm bed listening the rain on the roof, and your wee dog and your husband breathing in deep sleep next to you. Even if you know you’ll be tired all day from not sleeping from 2:30am onwards.
No, I haven’t been off reading the latest Harry Potter. In fact I haven’t even got a copy and am not going to rush off to get myself a copy anytime soon. (I just don’t seem to care enough. I will read it - I’ve read all the other books - but only because I read lots, not because any of the books in the series have ever excited me that much.)
I’ve been enjoying a long weekend which began on Friday, and have been reading (PD James) and playing (Civilization 4 Beyond the Sword - expansion was released this week) and relaxing with the puppy and M. Made a roast for lunch. Now I’m updating WoW. I’m going to enjoy the rest of this long weekend - I go back to work Tuesday.
Rediscover your blogging groove day 2 suggests that answering a reader’s question is a good way to get back into your blogging routine. This is a good idea, I think, but at the moment this suggestion irks me because it reminds me of the magnum opus I wrote about the Chinese language in response to your comments - and which I have gone and misplaced.
Should I try and rewrite something or are you all over it and don’t care any more? Or do you have some other question you’d like to ask?
Bloggers’ meetup was good - I think it was the biggest yet, with twenty people turning up. Of course, I didn’t bring the camera…
