M-learning
Digital learners learn better when engaged.
E-learning - any sort of delivery facilitated by electronic device
M-learning - portable technologies - allabout being mobile.
Mobility now like net in 96 - then everyone discounted the Internet, worried that it would just encourage games. Smartphone and PPC mag (Feb/Mar 2007 Vol 10, no 1)
TAFE moving from campus-based delivery - into the workforce.
Different assumptions:
Uni - elearn avail for every unit
Vocational and tech ed - not assumed
Trevor Bennett (ECU)
Kate Quinn - differences in how TAFE uses interactive tools to create materials
Uni - widespread, automated
VET- localized, cottage
Unis not thinking about pedagogy - just sticking content on web.. not thinking about how learners learn
Engage not enrage!!
Mobile networks very expensive.
But most students have mobiles!!
Yesterday - iPhone Day - was a very important day.
